Thank you to the Infinity Chain for participating in Ask Me Anything (AMA) with Basketballverse 2 March, 2022. This guest star,

  • Simon — CEO Basketballverse

Introduction

My name is Simon, I’m the CEO of Basketballverse, a project which brings the whole basketball ecosystem to the metaverse. I come from a basketball background, as I am a former basketball player, however, once I’ve quit basketball, I’ve shifted my path towards tech, and now I’ve been in the space for over 7 years, I have a software engineering and business administration background, and today I’m combining my two biggest passions — basketball and crypto, and putting my whole heart into the Basketballverse project! 🏀

We have a very strong team of 12 people, let me go quickly over a few of them!

Our technology lead Bronius Baniulis is an experienced CTO, with a 7 years of experience in the space and he also is a former software engineer at JPMorgan.

One of our biggest assets is our Senior game producer Rafal, who is in the gaming industry for over 20 years, and one of his career highlights is that he was a game designer of such game as the legendary RPG AAA g ame The Witcher, which was sold over 8M copies worldwide, and now even netflix TV show is built after it.

Our growth lead Os has multiple years of international experience covering various business environments such as SMEs, non-profit, governmental and global corporations. He also has senior business development and marketing experience in the crypto space.

Our game developers and game artist are another great addition to the team, as they had a chance to do the work for such companies as 2k (NBA2K creators) and EA (NBA Live creators).

Lastly, we have a great line up of advisors:
- Calvin Chu (ex Binance launchpad leader, current CEO of Impossible Finance).
- Domantas Pelaitis (ex Syntropy and Lympo, current tech lead at Lossless)
- Monika Sviderske (ex CMO of Brokoli network, and current CMO of Lossless).

Hope that gives you guys a better clarity about the quality of the team behind this exciting project! .

QUESTIONS MODERATOR

What is Basketballverse? What triggers you to launch Basketballverse?

Simon (Never DM for funds),
Basketballverse is a virtual NFT basketball P2E gaming metaverse built on blockchain for a truly immersive experience. With its $BVR token economy, the game allows participants to earn real income by playing as a baller, owning and managing a club, or owning an arena to host games and sell merchandise.

We’re basketball enthusiasts and technology experts ourselves, so the idea came to us naturally.

Could you please give a brief intro of Basketballverse salient features? What are some of the problems Basketballverse aims to solve? What solutions are offered?

Simon (Never DM for funds),
Absolutely, let me go quickly over a few of them!

Realistic gameplay — In the real game, you improve through play and you learn new skills. Your morale is boosted by a big fanbase or the tools and consumables you invest in. Other online games don’t capture this element. Ours does.
Personal connection — Players in Basketballverse are not generic avatars. You can choose your appearance, create your character and evolve your skills through play and purchasing practice from experts. You have your own fanbase and career.
Multiple options — Few current games offer an immersive and realistic opportunity to people who want to own and manage players in a club or run an arena. Ours does.
The power of brands and branding — real-world players, venues and associated brands can be a revenue-generating part of the Basketballverse.
Advertising — our arenas have spaces for ads.
Merchandising — sports brands can sell associated merch via arenas. Players benefit with values associated with this merch (e.g. increased morale and confidence).
Sponsorship — Club, league and arena names can all be sponsored, as well as colours and in-arena consumables (e.g. Red Bull).
Fanbase building — as in the real world, a bigger fanbase means a bigger social media following, greater support, more sponsorship potential and more winning edge.
Real-world connections — Want to buy in-game practice skills and signature moves from Shaq or get advice from Phil Jackson? We’ll make it possible for real players and coaches to earn in the Basketballverse.

Hope that gives you as much goosebumps about everything we have planned out, as it does for us!

Can you share Basketballverse tokenomics about total supply, allocation and $BVR token utilities?

Simon (Never DM for funds),
We are going to have a total of 100M tokens ever minted. Here is the full breakdown of allocation distribution:

Now as for the token utility:
- pay $BVR in order to upgrade your baller avatar (practices/mentorships, consumables, merchandise, etc.)
- pay $BVR in order to upgrade arenas
- pay $BVR as league entry fees
- pay $BVR in order to place your advertisements within basketball arenas and on basketball jerseys
- pay $BVR as a sponsorship payment

Then, for the participation you’re going to:
- receive $BVR when achieving milestones, winning games, hosting games, finishing seasons in top positions, etc.
- receive $BVR as a sponsorship payment

Now in terms of the staking:
- stake $BVR in order to establish your own basketball club (must stake it for as long as the basketball club is going to be alive). The higher the league, the bigger amount has to be staked (like in real-life — basketball clubs has to have an X size of the budget, in order to be eligible to participate in the league)
- stake $BVR in order to boost your consumables effects (faster recovery, longer-lasting high energy levels, etc.)
- stake $BVR in order to get discounts on ballers and arenas upgrades.

The collected revenue from NFTs sales, transaction fees, and in-game advertisements (collected in ETH/USDT/USDC/FIAT) will be used to re-buy the $BVR token which will go to the treasury and staking rewards.

We see that the amount of activities for which $BVR is needed will make players re-invest the token which they’ll get as a reward or acquire on the open market. On top of that, such things as staking benefits and buy backs will contribute to a steady token price growth in the long term.

Please inform Basketballverse roadmap and also what phase is currently taking place? What is the strategic plan Basketballverse in the future?

Simon (Never DM for funds),
Currently we are mainly focused on growing our community and spreading the word about Basketballverse. In parallel, we’re already building the game and our aim is to release the first version in a few months from now. On top of that, we’re working hard on onboarding various BIG TIME partners into our ecosystem, such as NBA players, famous brands, clubs, etc.

QUESTIONS TWITTER

I see that Basketballverse (BVR) IDO launched on Impossible Finance on March 23rd-24th. Can you explain how we can join IDO? What is the initial selling price of the BVR? What percentage of BVR tokens will be for IDO? After IDO, BVR will be listed on which major exchange?

Simon (Never DM for funds),
You can find all the IDO-related information here —

https://medium.com/impossiblefinance/the-impossible-finance-ido-11-basketballverse-token-sale-fff226f86bd3

As for exchanges — we’re in the talks with several major ones. We will reveal all the names once we’ll finalize everything, so stay tuned and follow our Announcement channels!

The Impossible Finance IDO #11 — Basketballverse Token Sale

Basketball video games like NBA2K can be played on either PC, mobile
phones and consoles. For BasketballVerse, do you have plans to expand you game’s device access availability up to the consoles like Xbox and Playstation? Is this part of your future major plans?

Simon (Never DM for funds),
That is definitely a part of our future plans, though right now we are focused on releasing the desktop version.

In the Arena feature, does each player have an Arena? If, yes how much should we buy for each Arena and if we have more than 5000 tokens can we get the biggest passive income reward?

Simon (Never DM for funds),
Not exactly. The amount of arenas will be controlled by the Basketballverse at all times. You’ll be able to choose which arena NFT tokens you want to buy, based on various arena characteristics. I’d like to invite you to learn more about the arena concept by going through information under this link —

https://medium.com/@basketballverse/make-arena-make-you-rich-d890927adf64

Given the fact that your project concept is focused on basketball, would BasketballVerse be partnering with some known basketball project, companies, entites and players?

Simon (Never DM for funds),
Yes indeed. We already are doing a great job on partnerships end. However, I can’t give any details yet, but we’ll be revealing some details pretty soon, keep your eye on our channels!

How will BasketballVerse value it’s community? And, what are the ways that BasketballVerse can build a strong and supportive community for it’s forever success? And, how many communities does BasketballVerse currently have for its non-english users?

Simon (Never DM for funds),
Community is at the heart of Basketballverse, which means creating and sustaining high levels of immersion, inspiration, participation, development and sustainability Existing incentives include: referrals, rewards, bug bounties, content creation rights, early-adopter programmes and ambassador campaigns. Of course, there will also be plenty of airdrop contests and giveaways. New gameplay features will be confirmed or rejected by the community. Token holders will be able to participate in voting for upcoming game features.

As for the non-english users we already have over 10+ communities in our Discord, and we’re constantly expanding!

QUESTIONS TELEGRAM

What is your TOP 3 things for priorities IN 2022?? Could you share some plans for THE upcoming year???

Simon (Never DM for funds),
- Release the game
- Onboard at least 50 famous basketball players as our in-game characters from who you’ll be able to purchase practices
- Build the strongest community in crypto and gamefi space!

The cryptocurrency market is increasingly competitive. What is your unique “selling point”? and how will you take advantage of it?

Simon (Never DM for funds),
Our USP? We build in the massive revenue-earning potential of real-world basketball to our metaverse. Players have typically spent more than they’ve earned in basketball gaming and we aim to change this. That means branding and sponsorship possibilities. It means merchandise. It means a large fanbase equating with brand value. It means incorporating real-world basketball players as coaches/mentors and real venues as arena sponsors.

Basketballverse is an extension of the real-world sport. We’re on a mission to create a full basketball ecosystem experience in the metaverse via immersive gameplay, balanced competition, and big rewards.

IS This Your project only for elite investors, how about others with small funds, is it open to everyone?

Simon (Never DM for funds),
This is definitely open for everyone, all you have to do is participate in our IDO which is going to happen on Impossible Finance! Also, the entry barrier to start playing our game is also very small, and all you’ll have to do is to acquire one of our NFTs, depending on which character you’ll want to play with.

What are the partnership and collaboration your project has planned? Are their any sorts of Partnership and achievement done and benefits received?

Simon (Never DM for funds),
We’re onboarding many NBA players, as well as basketball clubs and various basketball related brands. Now, I think what everyone must be looking forward to is famous basketball player announcements, this is going to be a game changer and will show how serious Basketballverse project is, and of course will give a better idea which direction Basketballverse is going to be developed.

What is your strongest advantage that you think will make your team leading the market?

Simon (Never DM for funds),
Our research shows that Basketballverse USP is highly competitive compared to current field players like NBA 2K or TOPSHOT. Thus, we have outlined a detailed plan on how to target basketball gamers using Guerrilla Marketing. Last but not least, once the game is out, it will be just too attractive and immersive for Basketball enthusiasts not to play it. Have a look!
