So, my name is ILYA Nikiforov and I am the founder of Disciplina Blockchain and educational platform TeachMePlease (teachmeplease.ru and teachmeplease.com soon).

Q1. Could you provide a simple description Disciplina for our community? What the motivation for starting build Disciplina?

DISCIPLINA — the first blockchain to create verified personal profiles based on academic and professional achievements, with the implementation of NFT as a genuine guarantee of the copyright for published content.

Analyzing the education situation and working on the project development, it has become clear that there are a lot of other critical issues to be resolved, including the invalidity of post-course certificates and the low value of academic education. Young people enroll in university to get a diploma, seeing no direct correlation between their education and further career development. It thus causes a lack of trust by employers and recruiters in the candidates’ qualifications — if someone studies just to check the box, it is unlikely that they will become a qualified specialist.

I have realized that creating a single resource is not enough, and it is necessary to create something that will make quality changes in the spheres of education and recruiting. Thus, the my team decided to create its own blockchain to generate a unified profile of verified academic and professional achievements and qualifications.

Q2. What makes Disciplina special? How is Disciplina better than comparison with competitors?

Bitcoin, Ethereum and other permissionless blockchains were developed with the assumption that everyone is free to join the network and validate transactions, that are public. However, the industry often requires privacy, and thus the permissive solutions with private ledgers came to exist.

The idea of storing educational records in the blockchain has been circulating in the press and academic papers for several years. The ledger is going to be shared between major offline educational institutes.

The main issue these solutions have in common is that they target a certain subset of ways people get knowledge. We propose a more general approach that would unite the records of large universities, small institutes, schools and online educational platforms to form a publicly verifiable chain.

Contrary to the solutions like Ethereum, we do not aim at proposing a programmable blockchain that fits all the possible applications. Rather, we believe, that we should harness all the latest knowledge that emerged in the last few years in the fields of consensus protocols, authenticated data structures and distributed computations to offer a new domain-specific ledger.

Finally, we introduce DISCIPLINA — the platform based on blockchain technology that aims to transform the way educational records are generated, stored and accessed.

Q3. Can you share about disciplinary technology? Why did Disciplina develop its own blockchain architecture? How does Disciplina work?

So DISCIPLINA doesn’t use any other blockchain, and is being developed for the demands of the educational and recruiting fields, taking into account the specificity of their activity.
DISCIPLINA is designed to act as a decentralized ledger, with special regard for privacy and mechanisms of data disclosure.

Our architecture splits the blockchain into two layers: the private layer contains sensitive data, and the public one contains the information necessary to validate the integrity and authenticity of the private blocks. The key entities of the proposed blockchain architecture are presented in the following Figure:

Some comments to the figure above:

Private layer. The private segment does not allow any data except hashes to open access. This is done to store private and personal user data, as well as those materials that are protected by copyright or commercial confidentiality

Witnesses check the validity of the segments within the private blockchains of the educational institutions. They will manage public chain of blocks, on which data created within each school is hashed. The witnesses won’t have access to the data itself, only to the hashes of the data

Educational institutions. An educational institution is any state or private online and offline organisation that conducts any and all educational activity. Private tutors are also included. It can even be a simple marketplace offering the sale of study materials. Every educational institution has its private chain and the opportunity to monetize educational records stored there.

Recruiters and other interested parties are offered paid access to the information about the academic history and achievements of the students.

Public layer. The public segment provides the access to the data that verifies the integrity of the private chains and the reliability of the data stored by the network.

Q4. Regarding the Disciplina ecosystem and usability Disciplina token, how can you balance between developing your project and adding value to your product? Could you please explain about the tokenomics of the Disciplina token?

That is easy:

Academic institutions, Tutors, Students, and Recruiters will interact with each other on the DISCIPLINA platform through applications that contain educational, recruiting, and other interfaces. DSCP tokens are required to get access to DISCIPLINA protocol.

The more data stored on the DISCIPLINA, the more valuable the access to it will be.

Q5. Can you please tell us the current Disciplina road map? How far has Disciplina been developed at this time? and what will you realize in the future?

Ilya [mr.TeachMePlease] Nikiforov,
DISCIPLINA protocol implements Cardano-based technologies. Nowadays, many other great decentralized technologies and protocols have been widely accepted. Not to be limited by the parent technologies, the development department made a forced decision to improve the protocol.

Therefore, building the gateways to all the common blockchains is an absolute must. As the one of the primary goal to implement the BSC (Binance Smart Chain) and the HECO (Huobi ECO Chain) support.

We believe that this step will increase the demand and prevalence of DISCIPLINA protocol.

Q1. What is the main reason you changed your old DSCP token to DSCPL? Will that not change the use-case of the old DSCP with the new DSCPL? And if we have DSCP how can we replaced to DSCPL, what’s the swap ratio?

As I said earlier, we have to improve the protocol to be able to build the gateways to all the common blockchains such as BSC and others. The possibility of using the token inside the protocol will remain.

Main problem is that original DSCP smart-contract was designed in 2017 with rather limited functionality. So now we want to start using latest innovations and this forced us to make a new token with much more wider functionality and freedom in development.

You should manually swap your existing tokens using the gate (gate.disciplina.io) once it’ll be launched.
Swap rate will remain at 1 DSCP = 10 DSCPL until mid-May.

Q2. According to the latest Disciplina article to take part in the IDO, participants must be whitelisted. How do you guarantee that every IDO participant data is safe? And what does “lucky in a random draw”, can you explain?

We do not proceed personal data by our own. We are using services of our reliable partner. So your data will be stored in secure place.

Unfortunately, due to the high interest, we will not be able to accept everyone. So we will make random selection among applications. The lucky ones will be able to purchase tokens at the price of the private round. The rest will be able to make a purchase only on the exchange.

Q3. Talking about NFTs, how do NFTs relate to educational institutions? What NFTs can be issued? how the value of NFTs can be used in Disciplina? What is the Disciplina rate for each transaction?

Oh, nice one again. NFT is something new we have just decided to add to our protocol.

On the DISCIPLINA platform, NFTs can be issued for everything with offline physical meaning, such as copyrights, tickets, important documents, etc. The publisher can choose whether to generate an NFT or not.

Authors can choose DISCIPLINA as the first publishing platform to sell intellectual property rights; from then on, each piece of data will generate an NFT. After obtaining the copyright, the user can freely choose whether to make it public or not.

Education-related courses will generate an NFT as a certificate of completion, including online and offline classes. Tickets can be submitted, and they lose their value once used.
Important information can be released by key opinion leaders, media, etc., and users can instantly purchase information.

The DISCIPLINA platform will charge 0.5% for transaction fees. 🤠

Q4. Are there any current problems facing Disciplina about education? How do Disciplina provide solutions to help students trust the educational institution they will choose?

The main hiring criteria are high-quality work and meeting deadlines.

These qualities depend primarily on qualifications, knowledge and skills of the candidates rather than their diplomas.

The ideal goal for the future would be to establish a new educational model that will resolve the issue of quality training for young specialists. This is particularly important in the world of progressive automation, where we are looking at the potential displacement of at least a quarter of the labor force in the coming years.

Q5. DISCIPLINA uses a PoS Consensus Algorithm, what are the advantages of DISCIPLINA using PoS compared to the PoW Algorithm? Can you please tell the so-called «Witness» how it relates to PoS?

Unlike traditional PoW mining, the DISCIPLINA platform provides energy-efficient PoS minting. The users will get rewards for any productive activity devoted to transaction processing and supporting the network. The network rewards the users proportionally to the volume of DSCP tokens on the balance of each user.

The public part of the network consists of Witnesses — the special entities that witness the fact that a private block was produced by an Educator. Witnesses also process public information issued by the Educators, such as announcements that an Educator has started or stopped offering a course in a particular discipline. The Witnesses agree on which public blocks are valid using the specified consensus rules.

An Educator collects private transactions into the blocks. After that, an Educator submits signed block header to the Witnesses so that private transactions can be confirmed by the public chain. Thus, the private blocks form a publicly verifiable chain of events. To incentivize Witnesses to include private block headers into the public chain, an Educator should pay some amount of coins per each private block.

According to the DISCIPLINA update article, Liquidity mining will be available at 15–30% APY after the launch of Uniswap / PancakeSwap. Is the APY that is given will forever remain like that? Will it increase / decrease every year? @OzMagic

Right now, we do not have any plans to change it. But we will follow the market needs and try to stay attractive to the users and competitive according to future market conditions.

All project’s coins have their main Utilities & real-life use! So, Can you tell us what the main role of your coin is in your ecosystem? Explain its Utilities & Real-Life use cases? and Why should i invest in your coin for the long term?

Our token will work as access pass. You will need to use it to get access to the content inside Disciplina network. More users and content on the platform — more valuable token is.

The only token holder can decide for how long to lack the token. These decisions are entirely on the side of the users.
